The Challenge

Paint buyers in Nigeria predominantly make purchasing decisions in hardware stores based on what is physically available. To shift purchase intent online, Suko Paint needed to give buyers a compelling reason to choose their colour and brand before walking into any store — so that they arrive at the counter asking specifically for Suko.

Our Approach

We built the digital experience around the two moments that matter most in a paint purchase: colour selection and quantity estimation. The visualiser makes colour choice happen on the website. The project calculator tells buyers exactly how many cans they need. By the time they reach a dealer, the decision is already made — Suko just needs to be in stock.

Color Visualizer — The Decision Made Before the Store

The single biggest driver of paint brand loyalty is colour confidence. A buyer who chose their shade on the Suko website arrives at a hardware store with a specific shade code — they are no longer susceptible to being switched to a competitor by a sales assistant. The visualiser is a brand lock-in tool disguised as a helpful feature.

Project Calculator — Preventing Under-Purchase Regret

Nothing loses a customer faster than selling them too little paint and forcing a second trip. Our project calculator asks for room dimensions and surface type, then returns an exact can count with a 10% safety margin. Buyers who calculate before purchasing are more confident at checkout and less likely to return products.

Dealer Locator — Converting Digital Intent to Physical Purchase

Suko's distribution is retail-first. The dealer locator ensures that a buyer who chose their colour online can immediately find the nearest stockist. This bridges the digital-to-physical purchase journey — preventing a buyer from choosing Suko online but purchasing a competitor's paint simply because they didn't know where to find it.

A digital brand experience that moves the paint purchase decision from the hardware store shelf to the buyer's phone — with a colour visualiser and project calculator that create Suko-specific intent before any physical interaction with a dealer.
